"Beatriz Mesquita- all around fierce. The look in her eye when she competes to the way she hunts for the finish. It’s always going to be an exciting match when Mesquita’s name is involved in the mix."
Last week we looked at -66Kg men’s bracket. Let’s shift over to the women’s -60KG bracket and it’s stacked with talent.
Ffion Davies, Bianca Basilio, Beatriz Mesquita- stacked.
Davies took the European Trials to secure her spot at this years ADCC’s. Davies has a list of achievements to her name and we expect her to make waves.
Bianca Basilio- her face is as calm as a butterfly, but her grappling is a fierce storm. Her match vs Beatriz Mesquita at the 2017 ADDC’s will always stand out to us. We see her making it to the podium this year.
Beatriz Mesquita- all around fierce. The look in her eye when she competes to the way she hunts for the finish. It’s always going to be an exciting match when Mesquita’s name is involved in the mix. Her stalking and aggressive takedowns at the 2017 ADDC’s will be something we look forward to seeing at this year’s event.
Now, this doesn’t mean these three girls above are going to medal. The bracket is still stacked with sleepers.
Elvira Karppinen- just, wow. Karppinen is our wildcard for -60KG bracket. Her grappling is as smooth as it is razor sharp. She stood out last year with a win in the first round against former ADCC World Champion Mackenzie Dern. Look out for her to makes piping waves this year.
Rikako Yuasa coming from the Paraestra academy with a black belt under legendary Yukinori Sasa will be representing Japan with an impressive resume – World, Asian Open, and European Open champion. Keep an eye out for her.
Also, keep an eye out for Lachlan Giles black belt Livia Gluchowska to make some noise with her name being thrown into the mix.
This year’s -60KG is stacked.
