ADCC 2019 Preview: Men’s -66kg

September 2, 2019

ADCC is just around the corner and we couldn’t be more stoked for this year’s event. Both Ryan brothers are moving up in weight. Mason Fowler and Keenan Cornelius switched places in their divisions. AJ Agazarm dropped out to focus on MMA. Regardless of any shakeups, ADCC always delivers a good show.

The -66kg weight class is stacked with marquee names: Geo Martinez, Gianni Grippo, Augusto Mendes, Paulo Miyao. Richard Alarcon will step in as Agazarm’s replacement. Alarcon enters the event coming off a victory at Kasai Pro, last year’s IBJJF World Champ at Brown Belt, and EBI Combat Jiu-Jitsu World Champion.

Another sleeper in this bracket is Keith Krikorian. He made waves at the US Trials and definitely wants to keep that momentum going. We can see Krikorian adding to his highlight reel on this stage. Keep an eye out for him and Alarcon to make impressive statements.

The -66kg bracket is primed for fireworks start to finish. Could go so many different ways, can’t wait to see how it all plays out.
