Fight 2 Win 124: Kabir Bath vs Josh Calvo

September 11, 2019

"Calvo can feel Bath’s balance starting to shift with every attempt to break his right hand free, so he uses that energy to set up a beautiful, clean lateral drop takedown. "

Both athletes fight for a superior grip from standing. Calvo controls the center with an inside collar grip on Bath’s left side. He also grabs Bath’s right sleeve. Bath has a lapel grip with his left hand under Calvo’s right arm as he tries to free his right hand.

Calvo can feel Bath’s balance starting to shift with every attempt to break his right hand free, so he uses that energy to set up a beautiful, clean lateral drop takedown.

Calvo swarms Bath on the ground and instantly takes his back. He notices Bath’s floating right arm and locks in a Kimura grip, slides his right knee to angle up in front of Bath’s head and drops his right hip to transition into an armbar.

Bath attempts to hang on, but Calvo stays cool and shifts his hips slightly to the left.  Bath’s grip breaks, and Calvo slowly raises his hips to get the tap.

Josh Calvo moves to 2-0 at Fight 2 Win.
