"Oscar’s rashguard isn’t fitted to his body like most other competitors, and his instincts tell him to adjust the baggy top he’s wearing. Imanol sees Oscar’s elbows stray from his body and takes the opportunity to slap in a tight triangle."
Both athletes set a high pace from the start. Imanol waits for Oscar to overstep during their hand fighting exchange and is able to shoot for a swinging door single leg. Imanol’s head is in front of Oscar’s midsection instead of his ribcage, which gives Oscar the chance to jump on a guillotine attempt.
No one wants to get submitted from a bad shot. Imanol fights off the hand grips and keeps control of Oscar’s leg to complete the takedown after what could have been a quick end of the match for Imanol.
Oscar, now on his back, plays open guard while Imanol aggressively tries to pass. Oscar finds Imanol’s back during the pass attempt, but Imanol fights off the hand grips and gets his back to the floor. From there he is able to bridge and scoot his hips out.
Oscar gets to turtle and looks for Imanol’s legs for a knee tap, but Imanol scrambles around Oscar to North-South. Imanol instantly jumps on an arm-in guillotine with a unique way of controlling the choke, D’arce like.
Oscar is just able to get his head out before the referee calls a timeout to re-center the athletes. Oscar, now free, looks to put on the pressure and pass. But his hips are too high and Imanol has no problem recovering to an open guard approach.
Oscar’s rashguard isn’t fitted to his body like most other competitors, and his instincts tell him to adjust the baggy top he’s wearing. Imanol sees Oscar’s elbows stray from his body and takes the opportunity to slap in a tight triangle.
Oscar tries his best to roll out, but can’t escape and gets submitted by Imanol. Trunks from Dragon Ball Z would approve of the finish and Imanol’s rad purple hair.
